“I am pleased to announce that after 40 years in Medicine, and nearly 20 years building START initially and then over the last 8 years NEXT Oncology, I am retiring at the end of July.
Being a phase 1 medical oncologist has been the best career I could have hoped for and I have witnessed first hand such amazing progress from the innovation in science, Biotech, and Pharma.
I will certainly miss my patients in San Antonio and around the World but know they are all in great hands with the 23 doctors I have hired over the years. We built a deep bench that will allow NEXT to continue to grow and expand to benefit all thoses who seek new treatments when standard therapies no longer work.
To my colleagues and friends at NEXT across 4 continents, I want to express my gratitude and admiration for building the best Phase I oncology network in the World. I will continue to support the NEXT team from the sidelines, and continue to consult and contribute to my Biotech and Pharma partners so that together we can hasten the development of meaningful new therapies.
